Dear Mole, thank you for a very informative, helpful and interesting blog. I have dabbled in the history of Natal and particularly Pietermaritzburg (where I was born and lived) for many years. I have a collection of hundreds of historical pictures, primarily of Pietermaritzburg that I photographed while researching at the Pietermaritzburg Archives some years back. Among them are similar pictures of same building including one of the post cart outside the building which is identified in the caption on the photo as the court house and post office. I'm sure you would be interested in comparing these photos with yours. (See https://molegenealogy.blogspot.com/search?q=POSTCART+PIETERMARITZBURG) My email address is roydesignprint@gmail.com. Regards and keep blogging. Roy
